WINZ

If you are on a low income or benefit, WINZ may be able to help with the cost of your emergency dental care. Let us know that you need WINZ assistance and our friendly team will arrange a time to see you and prepare an estimate for you to take to WINZ. Once this has been approved by them, we can undertake your care.

WINZ currently pay up to $300* per 12 month period, which is usually non-recoverable, ie you don’t have to pay WINZ back. WINZ may also be able to help pay for other urgent treatment which needs to be done. Any amount over $300 may be eligible for WINZ assistance but paid back to them. Check with WINZ to see if they can help you.

This grant covers essential dental care, and relief of pain and/or infection.

It does not cover:
- cosmetic dentistry
- root canal treatment on back teeth
- cleans (unless for gum infections)
- ACC claims (unless for part-payments not covered by ACC)

*This amount is to be increased to $1,000 in December 2022
